After working for 4 years in hairsalons I discovered that I needed more, the hairdressing was not enough. I wanted to focus in that fantasy world that had always been very present in my life.

I'm Alejandra Montiel, creator and designer of Idolls Workshop, a makeup special effects workshop located in Vigo, Spain.
This workshop came from my love and fascination for the audiovisual world and special effects.
I grew up with fantasy, horror and science fiction movies in the wonderful 80's (Yes! That magical decade where everything was possible), and I learned with Rick Baker and Michael Jackson that zombies were real and also ... they could dance!! It was pure magic.

From this time everything are hits, having the opportunity to work in international films and some TV ads with the most leading professionals of the sector like Arturo Balseiro ("The Devil's backbone", "Wolfman", "The Promise"...) or Alberto Hortas ("The Pan's Labyrinth", "Feedback"...) , among others, masterclasses or workshops with some of the greatest of all time as Colin Arthur ("The Neverending Story") or Stan Winston ("Terminator", "Edward Scissorhands", "Jurassic Park"...). In addition, I start to received orders from over worldwide (USA, UK, Canada, Japan, France, Germany… and lots may countries more!).
It seems like collectors love the idea to take the magic of the screen to home!!!

Our workshop today. (2018-2024)
In 2010 I decided to study Characterization and Makeup of Special Effects, and thus found my true passion: Create fantasy and share it with the world !!
From here my professional adventure begins and I begin to do small works for the regional Television, Short Films and Photo shoots.

But ... Why not give to audience a bit of their idols´ magic? It would be great to delivery special effects to homes around the world.
Is in 2012, when alejandramontielfx was launched (now Idolls Workshop).
Since this year, the best professional stage of my life begun, combining the special effects for films with the collecting.

With Colin Arthur (creator of the creatures of "The Neverending Story") in 2014, in a Masterclass on Special Makeup Effects.
At 2018, everything is going so good that we were forced to change our workshop, moving to a larger one in order to be able to attend all orders that we were receiving.
Moreover, we had to enlarge our workforce, with two additional proffesional that help us when it is request.
It is from that momento when Idolls Workshop starts to come up.
Today, in 2023, se continue growing up.
We handmade realistic lifesize busts, life casts and figures that we ship worldwide. And having normally a waiting list between 1-2 months.
